Vancouver Acute seeks an energetic, innovative academic emergency physician interested in leading a dynamic academic emergency physician group. Vancouver Acute includes BC’s largest teaching hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, with approximately 76,000 emergency visits per year, and UBC Hospital with approximately 17,000 visits per year. The recruited individual will be Head, Department of Emergency Medicine, Vancouver Acute.

We expect the applicant will have experience working in a large academic institution, and have demonstrated superior interpersonal and management skills which will ensure that the Department will maintain and further develop the clinical, research and teaching expertise it is known for. You will lead a group of 30+ career Emergency Physicians committed to the advancement of Emergency Medicine in a leading edge institution. The successful applicant will be eligible for appointment to the UBC Department of Emergency Medicine, at an appropriate rank and with a salary commensurate with experience and academic activity.

Applicants must be certified with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia.
